Sei-ichiro Yagi

Chairman
of
Fukui Prefectural Organization For Cultural Promotion

Thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation for the activities of Fukui Prefectural Organization For Cultural Promotion.

Our foundation was established in 1982 with the mission of fostering cultural appreciation among the residents of Fukui Prefecture and promoting the development of a rich, creative, and distinctive local culture. Since then, we have undertaken a wide range of initiatives, including the presentation of outstanding artistic and cultural works, the rediscovery of regional traditions, and the dissemination of cultural information throughout the prefecture.

Since 1997, we have been responsible for the management and operation of Harmony Hall Fukui, the prefectural concert hall. The facility serves as a cultural hub, providing performance opportunities for local music groups and enthusiasts, while also hosting acclaimed orchestras and leading artists. Through these efforts, we strive to offer enriching cultural experiences to the people of Fukui. We also implement various educational initiatives, such as outreach programs for middle school students, to nurture the next generation and promote cultural engagement from an early age.

In the area of local cultural promotion, we support diverse community-based activities. This includes the presentation of the Nono Hana Cultural Award, which honors significant contributions to local culture, as well as collaboration with regional cultural institutions to deepen public interest and participation in local culture.

Since fiscal year 2021, we have further expanded our efforts to revitalize communities through the power of the arts. These initiatives include the appointment of cultural advisors and support for art projects led by local residents. In April 2025, the Fukui Cultural Creativity Center was established to promote the Fukui Prefecture Cultural Promotion Plan, which was formulated by Fukui Prefecture.

We firmly believe that vibrant local culture is a key driver of regional vitality and renewal. The creative power of culture enriches daily life and contributes to the well-being of both individuals and communities. Guided by our founding principles, we remain committed to playing a leading role in promoting cultural development throughout the prefecture.
We kindly ask for your continued understanding and support as we work to create a culturally rich and fulfilling environment for all.
